Job description

We wish to appoint a well-qualified graduate to lead our successful Politics Department. This is a significant role at King’s, and you will be carrying forward the significant progress made by the current head of department.

The Head of Politics at King’s is responsible for all aspects of Politics teaching across the school. They will be an inspiring teacher who is capable of leading a talented and diverse department and teaching to post A level and to Oxbridge entrance standard.
- The role does not necessarily require previous experience as a Head of Department but does require the skills of teaching expertise, leadership and decision-making, and administrative accuracy, all combined with empathy, patience and managerial skills.
- There are, additionally, many opportunities for further involvement in the wider pastoral and co-curricular life of this large boarding school. All teachers at King’s take on a tutor group in one of the boarding or day houses and contribute to the co-curricular programme.
