We are looking to recruit Housekeepers to within Walsall Manor Hospital to support our temporary staffing team; this team work on a flexible basis and we are able to offer varied hours and days to suit your availability. There roles cover working hours Monday through to Sunday, mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, in addition we are seeking individuals to work nights within our emergency department.

We are opening a new state of the art Emergency Department this summer and our flexible team of Housekeepers are expanding to support this.

It is important that you are a clear communicator as the position does require you tocommunicatewith the ward teams, patients, colleagues and our contractors on a daily basis. Our Hospital is extremely busy is and challenging environment for individuals and we are looking for team players who are able toto use your own initiative and follow instructions as per our processes,

How to Apply?

The Role

Our Housekeepers play a key role in keeping our patients environment safe to allow quality care to take place365 days per year which includes weekends and Bank Holidays.

Clinical Areas - The role involves cleaning clinical areas and wards duties and could includecleaning; blood spillages, faecaes and toilets, and working in the same environment as infectious patients ( removal of clinical waste). Housekeepers are responsible for providing and maintaining high standard of cleanliness.

Kitchen and Housekeeping Storerooms Cupboards -In addition, our Housekeepers assist in the provision of food and beverages to patients andcleaning services to wards, kitchens and associated food service areas, cleaning premises and equipment, in patients, staff and visitor’s areas and maintaining and cleaning our storerooms.

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trustprovides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit was completed in2018,extension of a Neonatal Unit and brand new, state of the art Emergency Department is in the process of being completed.

1. Ensuring that working areas are kept in a clean and hygienic state and that good hygienic practices are observed in line with Trust Policies. By doing so exerting moderate effort from start to end of shift.
2. To maintain a clean and tidy appearance and observe Uniform Policy.
3. To observe correct use and care of equipment/machinery in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and training. To report to supervisor any fault in machinery or materials, in line with Health & Safety and COSHH Policies. To support the development of equipment lifecycle and be equipment champions.
