Village Agent

**How you'll make a difference**:
This is a pilot project to extend our successful Village Agent service into rural parts of South Gloucestershire.

Village Agents work with potentially vulnerable or isolated people to ensure they can get the support they need from a wide range of services.

We’re recruiting a Village Agent in each of the following three areas
- Pilning and Severn Beach
- Severn Vale - the parishes of Olveston, Aust, Oldbury-on-Severn, Hill & Rockhampton
- Cotswold Edge - the parishes of Wickwar, Hawkesbury Upton, Horton, Badminton and Acton Turville

**What will you be doing?**

You will work in the community making contact with vulnerable or isolated individuals, supporting and signposting them to appropriate statutory or voluntary services. Building good contacts in each of the villages is a really important part of the job.

**What we need from you**:
You will need to be:

- self-motivated and resourceful
- able to work with the local community to identify people who need help and needs identified
- provide accurate, high quality information
- refer them as appropriate to relevant agencies and service providers
- engage with clients in a friendly, and courteous manner.

The hours are flexible, but you will need to be mobile, so access to a car at least some of the week is necessary.

West of England Rural Network is a local charity that works with local communities to help them ensure they have the service their residents need. We have run successful Village Agent services in other parts of the area for several years, this is a great opportunity to work with rural communities across South Gloucestershire.
