Grafton Recruitment are now seeking to appoint an experience Patient Safety Coordinator to our Public Sector client based in Melbourn, Cambridgeshire. The Patient Safety Coordinator will be a key conduit between the central safety and risk department andall localities and departments in the organisation. The Patient Safety Coordinator will work closely with the clinical quality, operational and corporate teams, and staff at all levels in the organisation. The post-holder will make use of best practice reviewmethodology in order to ensure the identification of procedural and system weakness' within the organisation, with root causes, contributory factors and lessons learned identified, support SMART action plans and for recommendations to be put in place.

**Duties of the Patient Safety Coordinator**
- Gather all information required to conduct detailed reviews and provide objective and accurate conclusions via a formulated report.
- To provide advice and be a resource on safety, risk and quality improvement methodology and delivery to localities.
- To support localities in the delivery of good incident and risk management processes.
- To contribute to the systems and processes that support incident reporting and risk management ensuring compliance and external and legal requirements.
- To work with the relevant departments to ensure that action plans derived from the management of risk or incident reviews are developed with a high level of efficacy.
- Support learning from incident reviews, entered in the risk system or action plans, are completed evidenced and monitored, to assist in providing full assurance that lessons have been learned, to the safety and risk leadership team.
- Contribute to the planning, managing and monitoring of quality improvement projects and initiatives to achieve a beneficial change to quality and safety in line with the objectives of the department and organisation, aligning with national quality and safetypriorities.
- Support in responding to and resolving conflict between different stakeholders when this arises through facilitation or other appropriate mechanisms.
- Be able to explain strategy and organisational decisions in relation to patient and staff safety matters to everyone in the organisation.

**Role Criteria**
- Degree level qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
- NEBOSH/NVQ Level 4 in Occupational Safety and Health is desirable.
- Significant knowledge of using root cause analysis methodology.
- Knowledge of risk management.
- Ability to retrieve, interpret and analyse complex data.
- Knowledge of current Public Sector policies, standards, requirements and directions.
- Minimum of three years' experience of working in a health and safety environment or patient safety environment.
- Experience of formal incident report writing.
- Experience of delivering training sessions and contributing to projects.
- Experience in areas of security management.
