Role description & key reponsibilities

As a member of the Climate Risk and Opportunity Advisory Team, you will:

- Support the delivery of client deliverables by working with team members across the business - including contributing to client presentations and workshops - in particular on climate-related risk and opportunity, and with a focus on physical climate risks. A key aspect of this will be to communicate the findings of our work to clients in a digestible, compelling way;
- Work within project teams to analyse physical climate data from multiple sources (including the IPCC), as well as assess and quantify risk and impact across geographies;
- Support business development and sales-related activities, including helping senior colleagues to draft client proposals and develop new offers;
- Contribute to ERM’s innovation and knowledge-sharing through _ad-hoc_ involvement in thought leadership, internal newsletters, learning sessions, amongst other initiatives; and
- Contribute to ERM’s research and development of digital solutions as they relate to supporting our clients to respond to climate change.

Person specification
- Required:_
- A qualification in sustainability, climate change, physical geography, or other relevant field;
- An understanding of financial issues related to climate change, specifically those relating to climate reporting and disclosure initiatives such as the TCFD and EU Taxonomy;
- Knowledge of climate variables (CMIP5 and CMIP6 in particular) such as key trends in precipitation and temperatures, among other IPCC and other variables, as well as an understanding of the functions and outputs of climate models;
- Capability with assessing risk and vulnerability, preferably within the context of climate-related impacts to companies;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, such as the ability to manage and diverse stakeholders and work collaboratively in a team or with other business functions; and
- Excellent communication skills, particularly relating to packaging complex outputs into a digestible format and communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience through workshops and presentations.
- Desired:_
- Experience with modelling the financial impacts of climate-related issues, specifically physical climate risks; and
- Appreciation for energy and/or other commodity markets, as well as knowledge of energy transition scenarios (e.g. IEA WEO).
