Hgv Driver

The main purpose of the role will be to drive a Tug unit to place unaccompanied trailers onto & off of vessels within the Port of Dover. Also, you will have responsibilities for mooring duties for securing & letting go of vessels harbouring within the Port.
Main Duties:

- Working as part of a team, secure and let go any vessel as directed, working in a safe manner at all times
- Drive and operate Tug vehicles to carry unaccompanied trailers on and off vessels
- To support the operation with Ad Hoc works when required

To be successful in the role, you will need:

- Good level of secondary school education
- HGV 1 licence is essential & CPC licence is desirable
- Knowledge of ports is desirable but not essential.
- Ability to communicate with staff and public alike.
- Self-motivated and flexible.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders and heave Mooring lines.
- Able to cope with shift work including nights, weekends and Bank Holidays.
- Successfully complete basic and enhanced Criminal Record (DBS) Checks
