**An opportunity to join our team as an Apprentice**
- An excellent opportunity to start a career, complete an apprenticeship and progress within our law practice. General duties may include making and receiving telephone calls, preparing precise attendance notes, and filing, etc.
- Any apprentice would be expected to be focused and hardworking with a genuine interest in working in a legal environment. To be positive and helpful in the office environment and towards clients.
- To assist fee earners whilst learning and progressing.
- We would encourage apprentices to think outside of the box, make new innovative suggestions that older colleagues may not have considered/understand i.e. social media/tech suggestions for marketing etc.

**Future Prospects**
- Paralegal starting salary is £18,000.

**The Law Practice**
- Legal services for businesses and individuals
- Old school building converted into offices.

**Your role**
- A mixture of small offices and more open plan offices with 2-3 people.
- The office is friendly and relaxed but focused and can be pressurised and busy depending on workload and deadlines.
- Any apprentice would be sat in an office with other people for training and support.

Private client apprentice
- Dealing with arranging appointments for clients and preparing paperwork for these meetings.
- Sitting in on client meetings.
- Quoting and taking initial information/answering basic queries.
- Conducting research tasks
- Preparing initial correspondence following meetings such as letters of engagement/advice letters (dictated or with supervision).
- Drafting legal documentation (dictated or with supervision).
- Seeing clients to sign legal documentation.
- Invoicing
- Preparing notes from attendances in meetings.
- Preparing correspondence to clients or other third parties.
- Scanning and copying of paperwork.
- Supporting fee earners with other tasks.
- Answering telephone and taking messages/sending to fee earners
- Updating databases and software

**Desired skills**
- **4-9 grades English and maths GCSE's**:

- Confident with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage reception in conjunction with other administration duties
- Good attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of ICT packages including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to demonstrate or gain a clear understanding of the firm’s in-house systems where training will be given
- Excellent presentation, organisation and timekeeping skills
- Awareness of confidentiality and safeguarding
- The ability to use own initiative, be able to work individually as well as part of a team
- Must be well-presented with a clear, pleasant telephone manner
- Good organisational skills
- Good client care skills
