Here at **MJ Quinn**, we currently have an exciting new opportunity for a **Civils Operatives **to join our **Mid Wales t**eam.
The working hours for the role are Monday - Friday between 08:00 -17:00 however, there will be a requirement for out of hours and weekend work on this contract.
**About the role**
As a Re-Instatement Civils Operative, you will be required to carry out a high standard of reinstatement works working collaboratively with excavation teams and under the instruction of the Civils Supervisor. The reinstatement team will be working across multiple footway and road surface types and will be responsible to ensure a high standard of quality in line with the HAUC and client expectations and to health and safety requirements at all times as an individual and as part of team.
**Responsibilities of the role**:
As a Re-Instatement Civils Operative, your core responsibilities will be to:
- Will ensure all works are completed as required whilst the team are working within the required guidelines and processes.
- Operate manual and mechanical equipment.
- Ensure all SLG set up meets the Streetworks requirements and all sites are compliant 100% of the time.
- Reinstate to industry standard (HAUC) ensuring all information / pictures are captured on company supplied apps.
- Be competent in the use of Stihl Saws / Wacker plates / trench compactor / jack hammer / tarmac rollers / Hot Boxes / Butane Buner and hold the correct certification to complete the works
- Ensure daily completion of required apps for the workstream (risk assessments & van, tools and plant checks) in line with Digital Evidence Requirements
- Experience of risk assessment and hazard identification and a strong focus on health and safety requirements and responsibilities.
- To be responsible for the company assets & plant assigned to you for the purpose of performing your duties.
- To treat internal and external customers with respect and always provide support.
- Ensure compliance with all current client processes and procedures.
- Experience in a similar operational or utilities environment within the telecommunications industry desirable
- Be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external clients.
- Complete all project related works on time and meet client committed dates for delivery of the works.
- Be prepared to carry out works on other workstreams when required and instructed by the business.
- **Skills and Qualifications**_
- Full clean UK driving license
- Be able to carry out strenuous physical activity
- 2 + years’ experience
- Towing and 7.5-ton licence is essential
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- An industry applicable qualification is very desirable
- Telecoms Industry knowledge is essential
- Excellent communication skills
- A positive attitude and a can-do approach to work
- Good organisation skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Hold a full UK driver’s license
- Hold the following qualifications: NRSWA - Essential Units 1- 3, 6,7, CSCS - Desirable
- **Unit 1 (LA)**:
- Location and avoidance of underground apparatus.
- **Unit 2 (O1) -** Signing, lighting and guarding.
- **Unit 3 (O2) -** Excavation in the highway.
- **Unit 4 (O3) -** Reinstatement and compaction of backfill materials.
- **Unit 5 (O4) -** Reinstatement of sub-base and road base in non-bituminous materials.
- **Unit 6 (O5)** - Reinstatement in cold-lay bituminous materials.
- **Unit 7 (O6)** - Reinstatement in hot-lay bituminous materials.
- **Unit 8 (O7)** - Reinstatement of concrete slabs.
- **Unit 9 (O8)** - Reinstatement of modular surfaces and concrete footways.
**Experience**:
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience in a similar environment within the telecommunications industry
- Proven skills in the area of street works with industry recognised qualifications
- Hold a full UK driver’s license, with no more than 6 points.
