Job Overview:
The initial job role is as a Clinical Assistant supporting the professional members of staff with a view to enrolling as a trainee Dispensing Optician in September 2025. Eventually, as an Optician, you will assist customers in selecting and fitting frames & lenses whilst ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction. Details of the course will be provided.

Initial Duties:

- General reception duties including telephone enquiries & booking appointments, filing, paperwork, taking payments.
- Greeting patients and directing them to the appropriate area of the practice.
- Pre-screening patients prior to their eye examination doing OCT retinal scanning, peripheral vision tests, DNEye biometric scans
- Glaucoma management screening on behalf of the NHS.

Eventual Duties:

- Assist customers in selecting appropriate frames based on their preferences and prescription requirements
- Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes, including pupillary distance, to ensure proper lens fit
- Interpret prescriptions written by optometrists
- Adjust frames to ensure proper fit and comfort for customers
- Educate customers on proper eyewear care and maintenance
- Provide recommendations for lens coatings, tints, or other enhancements based on customers' needs
- Keep up-to-date with the latest eyewear trends and technologies

**Requirements**:

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- 5 GCSE's grade A-C which must include Maths, English & Science
- You must be available to work 2 Saturdays every 4 weeks and Thursday until 7pm.

**Salary**: From £23,400.00 per year
