**VACANCY NOTICE - CADET STORES ASSISTANT ROYAL COUNTY OF BERKSHIRE ARMY CADET FORCE**

The South East Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association has a vacancy for a Cadet Stores Assistant with the Royal County of Berkshire Army Cadet Force based in Reading.

Applicants will have served in the Armed Forces as a Non Commissioned Officer in a stores accounting role or in a similar civilian occupation.

The Cadet Stores Assistant supports the Quartermaster with the day-to-day running of the stores.

The starting salary, which equates to Pay Band E1 (All hours Work) in the MOD Civil Service is £25,880 per annum on an all hours worked basis, equating to an average of 47 hours per week. The Association also offers a competitive pension scheme.

The successful applicant will be encouraged to join the Army Cadet Force, for which extra remuneration will be made. They will also be required to be security cleared, which will include an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service.

**General Description**:
Managing the full range of equipment and stores to support ACF Counties at HQ/CTC and in detachments.

**Specific Responsibilities/Duties**:
1. Receive all material, check against documentation for quantity and quality and bring to account.

2. Maintain stock book for receipts and issues and all other relevant paperwork as per Materiel Regulations.

3. Operate the WESTMINSTER stores package.

4. Condition returned stores for cleanliness, repair and general serviceability.

5. Prepare paper work for disposal, writes off, issues and receipts.

6. Submit demands for replenishment.

7. Prepare stores for issue at weekend training.

8. Prepare uniforms for issue.

9. Accounting for Operational Ration Packs.

10. Carry out deliveries and collections to/from outside agencies.

11. Prepare accounts for inspections.

12. Dispose of packaging in line with waste management policy.

13. Maintain stores areas in a tidy and workmanlike condition.

14. Stand in for the CQM as and when required.

**Special Requirements (qualifications, equipment skills, etc)**:
15. **Essential**

Previous stores/ warehouse experience.

Hold a current Cat B driving licence.

If not ammunition trained, be prepared to undertake the Ammunition Storekeepers Course.

16. **Desirable**

Previous military stores experience.

Qualified or relevant experience in Health and Safety matters.

Fire NCO trained.

First Aid at Work qualified.

Knowledge of Military Security procedures.

Experience of Military Transport procedures.

Hold a current Cat C, CE, D1 and D1E driving licence.

**Other Features of the Job**:
17. Attendance at Annual Camp in a civilian capacity, if not as an Adult member of the ACF is essential.

18. A CSA is encouraged to serve in the Army Cadet Force either as an Officer or Adult Instructor.
