Our finance professionals play an essential role in maintaining a healthy balance sheet at AIG. We deliver significant finance support for the overall enterprise, optimizing operations, funding and capital structure to honor our commitments to our stakeholders. We inform the decisions of AIG executives and comply with regulatory requirements, maintaining financial discipline, transparency and controls, while providing timely and meaningful information.

About the role- Provides financial support to International Financial Lines and Property Leadership Team on formation and quantification of strategy including scenario analytics and portfolio improvement plans to support decisions.- Decision support to International Financial Lines & Property CEO’s, and their direct reports. Monitor and drive production and profitability analytics (including production, UW, expense)- Lead budget for these areas, and support forecast and quarter close process. Promote accuracy and consistency of financials and KPIs across all regions.- Deliver the International QBR (IFL and Property) as well as ad-hoc global business reviews- Support quarterly earnings preparation (business narrative, insights and analytics).- Contribute to International Financial Lines and International Property hitting COR, Profit, Production and GOE targets through direct Business Partnering support and liaison with teams supporting the business.- Reporting and Monitoring of the Performance of the Business/ Segments (Key P&L items) vs Plan, KPI analysis (business drivers), quality of business mix
- Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in formulating business strategy.-
- Monitoring the Performance of the Business/Segments: Business Drivers, KPIs and Key P&L items relative to Plan, leveraging reports and providing Business Teams with insights to ensure any corrective actions can be timely executed.-
- Business Planning: Drive budget and support forecast process by challenging geographies and ensuring all the latest assumptions are included.-
- Preparation of Business Reviews: Quarterly Business Reviews - coordinate, prepare and ensure Business Leaders are ready for standard and ad-hoc business reviews.-
- Interaction with rest of Finance, Actuarial & Claims - work with Controllers, Reporting, Reinsurance, Pricing & Reserving Actuaries, and Claims: (i) Ensure quarter close actuals reflect valid business expectations (ii) Drive the linkage among the teams to ensure all relevant stakeholders are aligned regarding projected and actual loss experience (iii) Review and validate/challenge Prior Year Development and AY loss pick updates.-
- Expense Management and monitoring, transparency of expense drivers, leveraging reports produced centrally and driving efficiencies across the Business Teams.-
- Reinsurance - support RI strategy optimisation and annual renewals, including the allocation of costs to regions & countries.- What you’ll need to succeed
- Managerial Leadership: Able to work cohesively in a matrix structure, with the ability to manage senior stakeholders effectively. Excellent time management & organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities to meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication (written and presentational) skills.
- Interpersonal, Team and Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and great team player, with the ability to communicate effectively with impact across functions. Excellent written and oral communications. Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to persuade, influence and convince others. Matrix leadership through robust delivery management, coaching and guidance.
- Financial and Strategic Acumen: Accomplished in engagement, partnership and cross functional collaboration at an Executive Level. Driven finance individual with in-depth knowledge of the business in terms of both UW and Expenses. Highly analytical mind with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial colleagues.
- Technical Skills: Strong data and financial systems knowledge. Practical within existing data limitations and creative with new solutions. Excellent problem solving skills with a continuous improvement mind-set and bring
