Proactive are currently in search of a Polishing Technician for a world leading Aerospace and Defence company based in Derby. They are pioneers in the Aero-Engine field and are at the forefront of delivering the power that matters to their customers and the planet. **Job Focus**:
***

In this role, you will be working on some of the best products in the industry across all the major engine projects and some of the best technology. Polishing consists of manual polishing techniques alongside power tools to produce our products. Your role will also involve working with cross-functional teams to implement and sustain improvement activities within our manufacturing environment.

**Key accountabilities**:
In this role you will operate in a busy, world-class engineering and manufacturing environment and will be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements. Your responsibilities will include:

- Working to Technical Instructions to deliver consistent, high quality polishing across a variety of different components and product families.
- Working with the wider team to prioritise work and enable flow.
- The assessment of whether the quality of components produced within the facility meets the required standards and rework back to specification where instructed.
- Working within a team to effectively resolve quality issues and ensure your work is being completed to plan

**Skills / Experience**:

- Previous experience within aerospace components would be preferable.
- Prior experience on polishing techniques would be preferable.
- Demonstrated capability of reading manufacturing drawings.
- Demonstration of working in a team-based environment.
- Pro-active and patient individual, capable of managing your time effectively.
