**Farm Shop Assistant**

**Overview**

We are a long established, busy, family-run Farm Shop. We stock a huge range of product lines from fresh and seasonal produce through to local foods, gifts and crafts and an extensive bedding and pot plant range in Summer. Based on a main thoroughfare to the coast, we attract high footfall from tourists at peak times (summer, bank holidays etc) and we have a strong customer base and excellent reputation with local people.

This is a permanent position in a fast-paced environment with a significant amount of manual handling. Retail (shop based) experience is desired although not essential. Experience working with fresh produce would be an advantage.

**Hours**

Shifts are 7.5 to 9 hours (slight variation at different times of year).

Regular shifts will be every Friday, Saturday and Monday.

Additional days will be required in busy periods or to cover holidays. Up to 36 hours per week.

**The Job**

Your primary responsibilities will be serving on the till, keeping the fresh produce fully stocked at all times and ensuring orders are checked off and put away in a timely fashion.

This is a very busy environment and you will thrive on always being on-the-go. You will be a high-energy person, used to being on your feet all day, moving steadily from one task to the next.

You will be expected to work on your own on quieter days and as part of a small team when busier.

You will be self-motivated, pro-active and used to working on your own initiative. You will be easily able to prioritise which job to complete next and able to ensure that all jobs are completed by the end of the day.

You will have an eye for detail and keep shop displays looking immaculate at all times.

You will be an excellent communicator, easily able to connect and get along with customers and colleagues, able to build rapport without being distracted from the task at hand.

**Responsibilities**

Serving on the till

Merchandising stock

Checking off and merchandising orders in a timely fashion

Keeping shop displays fully stocked and looking neat and tidy.

Keeping shop, stock room and staff kitchen clean and tidy (eg vacuuming, washing up, etc).

Following existing processes and procedures and completing relevant paperwork.

**Requirements**:
Preferred to have 1 year experience in retail.

**Must live locally and have own transport.**

Experience working with fresh produce is an advantage.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From £11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 22 - 36 per week
