Actual salary will be prorated based upon number of hours per annum
Working on average 10hrs per week, term time only
(Hours will depend on how many schools you support)

As we seek to grow our governance services, we are looking to appoint **Trust Clerk to Governors **to provide dedicated, professional administrative support, advice and guidance to Local Governing Bodies within our Trust. The role is hybrid working, with the majority of hours being flexible to work from home, with face to face meetings five times per year, per school supporting. All of our schools are based in Wyre Forest comprising both Primary and Secondary schools. The flexibility within this team means that there is a support for Clerks to work across one, or a variety of schools, developing expertise together, under the direction of a highly experienced Governance Professional, to provide high quality governance support within our Trust.
Applicants must have outstanding organisational and administration skills and have a calm approach with excellent attention to detail. They will also need to be an effective communicator, be very proactive, have good interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and demonstrate initiative. You will have a shared commitment to our values, working collaboratively to ensure our central services underpin our priorities for school improvement.

As an integral member of the Central Services Team, the Trust Clerk will provide dedicated, professional administrative support, advice and guidance to Local Governing Bodies within the Trust.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- To embody the vision, values and ethos of Severn Academies Educational Trust.
- To deliver confidential governance and administrative support to the LGB/Headteachers.
- In all things to act as the first point of contact for governance, demonstrating high standards of personal integrity, discretion and professionalism.
- Comply with, and assist with, the development of policies and procedures across the Trust.
- To prepare, facilitate, attend and minute Trustee meetings.
- To provide support as required for particular activities related to the work of the Trust to include, but not limited to, Trust events, training programmes, governors briefings.
- Attend briefings and participate in professional development opportunities.
- Keep up to date with current educational developments and legislation affecting MAT/school governance.
- Take responsibility for your own ongoing personal development and growth of expertise.
- Modelling and promoting the Trust’s wellbeing principles.
**SPECIFIC DUTIES**
- Draft agendas and take minutes of meetings as required, and circulate minutes appropriately.
- Prepare and track actions from meetings and follow up on outstanding actions in advance of the next meeting.
- Provide administrative support and clerking service to Local Governing Bodies across our schools.
- Build effective and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders sharing best practice and knowledge.
- Provide professional Clerking support for all LGB meetings.
- Assist with the elections of parent and staff governors.
- Give advice and support to trustees/governors taking on new roles such as chair or chair of a committee.
- Participate in, and contribute to the training of governors in areas appropriate to the clerking role including logging training on governor hub.
- Maintain a file of relevant DfE/EFSA and LA documents.
- Prepare summary minutes for the trustee board as necessary.
- Work with the Chair and key school personnel to deliver an annual calendar of meetings and the cycle of agenda items for meetings of the trustee/governing body and its committees which runs in conjunction with the Trust Governance calendar.
