Our prestigious education client is looking for a School Receptionist with an Enhanced DBS on the update System to join the team in our Private school in Portsmouth.

The school receptionist plays a crucial role in providing administrative support and creating a positive first impression for visitors, students, and parents. This position involves managing the front desk, handling phone calls, greeting guests, and assisting with various administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the school office.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Front Desk Management**:Greet and welcome visitors, students, and parents in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls promptly and efficiently.Maintain a tidy and organized front desk area.
- **Visitor Assistance**:Provide information to visitors and direct them to the appropriate staff or department.

Issue visitor badges and ensure compliance with security procedures.
- **Communication**:Relay important messages to staff and ensure effective communication within the school.

Respond to inquiries from parents, students, and staff courteously and professionally.Manage school calendar and schedule appointments as needed.Assist with data entry and maintaining student records.Assist in the implementation of attendance policies and procedures.
- **Administrative Support**:Assist in handling school correspondence, including sorting and distributing mail.
- **Attendance Tracking**:Monitor and track student attendance, reporting any discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
- **Emergency Procedures**:Follow established emergency procedures and provide assistance during drills or actual emergencies.**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a receptionist or administrative role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using office equipment, including computers, printers, and phone systems.
- Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Knowledge of basic administrative and clerical procedures.
