- Bradford Survive and Thrive is an exciting and innovative multi-agency partnership bringing together 3 organisations, Family Action, Staying Put and Women’s Centre Limited who are working together to develop a ‘one system approach’ for families affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence._

We are looking for a Children’s IDVA to provide a range of targeted interventions with young people (13 -17yrs) across the Bradford district, where they are significantly affected by, or at risk of, teen relationship/ family based domestic abuse. You will be part of a service that works with young people to promote their safety and resilience, reduce symptoms of trauma, and empowers them to make positive life choices.

This post is currently funded until March 2025 with the hope that funding will be extended beyond this point.

Your skills and experience

If you have experience of working with young people using evidenced based, trauma informed approaches, an understanding of the impact of domestic abuse and safeguarding, can communicate and engage effectively and have experience of working collaboratively with other agencies, we would love to hear from you.

Summary of job:
As a Children’s IDVA you will be providing a range of targeted interventions to young people 13 to 17, where they are significantly affected by, or are at risk of domestic abuse. You will be part of a trauma informed service that promotes safety and resilience, aims to reduce trauma symptoms and empowers young people to make positive life choices.

Key tasks and responsibilities:
Provide evidenced based, bespoke interventions for individual young people in a range of settings that are, trauma informed and strengths-based.

Undertake assessments of need with children/young people and devise young person focused support plans.

Work closely with schools, Survive and Thrive partners and other local services to provide an integrated service for young people, including those from marginalised communities.

Work and communicate effectively with the wider family network and referring agencies throughout the journey of support, where appropriate.

Assist parents/carers in their understanding of the impact of domestic violence in order that they might respond appropriately to the emotional needs of children and young people.

Attend and initiate multi agency meetings
