**About the role**:
We are currently looking for a Materials Controller to join our TrainCare Centre (TCC) team. You’ll be responsible for assisting in the in the management of all materials contracts and supplies on behalf of LNER to support the IC225 Fleet Maintenance Contract at Neville Hill.

You’ll report into the Materials Manager and manage the performance of our suppliers, through monitoring and target setting to ensure material requirements can be met.

**Key responsibilities**:
This is a varied and challenging role, but here is a taste of what your day-to-day activities could include:

- Supporting the management of stock control systems, to monitor usage and support the strategic development of stock control methods and procedures
- You’ll be assisting with the regular stock verification processes.
- Monitor and review surplus stock and redundant assets, and arrange disposal within delegated authorities
- You’ll support the management risk associated with material supply to ensure minimum levels are maintained e.g. COSHH, Engineering competence etc.

**About you**:
We are looking for someone with a keen eye for attention to detail, ensuring the quality and integrity of the information being recorded and the ability to prioritise and manage your own time, because we need someone who can start helping the team as soon as they join us

You’ll need to have excellent organisation skills in order to control your workload and break it into manageable tasks, ensuring you are able to hit deadlines and targets.

If you fancy doing your thing as an Administrative Assistant, your greatest strengths will be:

- Excellent communicator - both written and verbal as you’ll be working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Adaptable, in order to keep up to date with the ever changing priorities and wider business
- IT literate and ability to learn new systems
- Good knowledge and experience of material supply procedures and storekeeping practices is desirable.
- Experience of our trains and rolling stock would be an advantage.
