**Duties**:
1. Operates limited service bars. Prepares a limited variety of alcoholic drinks by selecting proper pre-mix and garnish. Serves beer, soda and wine. Serves patrons directly or delivers to waiter.
2. Receives payment, operates cash register, and makes and returns change to patrons or waiter. Sets up bar for operation and obtains cash bank. May be required to prepare documentation for cash funds accountability.
3. Maintains a neat and clean work area. Washes bar equipment, glassware, and utensils. Stocks service bars and assists higher-level bartender as required.

- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires that the incumbent meet the legal age requirements for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages. For this position, that age requirement is 18 years of age or older.
- This position will require the incumbent to work an uncommon tour of duty, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training within 30 days of appointment.

- **Qualifying Experience (MUST BE SUPPORTED IN YOUR RESUME)**:
1**. **Must have experience mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale, which includes knowledge of correct proportions and mixtures to use in preparing beverages; AND
- 2. Must be able to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to resolve the problem or seek assistance if needed; AND
- 3. Must be able to follow cash handling procedures.**Education**:
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
**Additional information**:
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
