Neighbourhood Support volunteers

North Yorkshire Police’s vision is to enhance community policing through working with citizens, local voluntary, public and private organisations that have a stake in their community.

Police Support Volunteers are members of the public who give up their own time, to carry out a range of tasks for the police service. Volunteer’s assist in their local or preferred areas, to provide extra support to the local Policing Teams.

The NSV role aims to provide support to community safety-based activities aiming to:

- Raise awareness of current crime trends and how to keep safe,
- Engaging with local communities to help them feel safer.
- Support NYP and partners in early intervention

Through helping to organise; Events, Speed watch, Leaflet drops, Operations, Community Messaging System, Crime preventions and Partnership Work.

NSVs can choose to participate in as many or all the tasks listed within the role profile as they wish.

**We have a vacancy in Thirsk, Skipton, Northallerton, Richmond, Harrogate, York, Ripon, Bedale, Leyburn, Catterick.**

Our communities are at the heart of everything we do. In this voluntary role you will work closely with NSV’s and Neighbourhood Policing Teams to help co-ordinate days of action and community events.

Volunteers come from all walks of life, each bringing their own skills and specialisms. All volunteers are vetted and inducted, given police volunteer uniform, ID card and you will receive ongoing training and support. Applicants must live within North Yorkshire to apply.
