**JOB TITLE**: Accounts Assistant - 15 month contract (Full or Part Time considered)

**LOCATION**: Yeovil, Somerset

**SALARY**: £24,000 - £27,000 PA DOE

**HOURS**: 8.30am - 5.30pm **OR** 8am - 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8am/8.30am - 3pm Friday. (Part Time hours also considered)

**The Company**: An established, successful and reputable machine tool company, servicing the aerospace, motorsport, electronic and power generation industries.

This role is being offered as a **15 month maternity cover contract to start as soon as possible** to allow for a thorough handover.

**Benefits**: 24 days holiday (3 days kept for Christmas period), plus Bank Holidays, Pension Scheme (5% Pension Contributions), Sickness Scheme, early Friday finish, fun and friendly team environment.

**Key Duties**:

- Managing the purchase ledger - coding purchase invoices, entering purchase invoices, reconciling supplier accounts, dealing with supplier queries and managing BAC's runs.
- Support personnel with the sales ledger and help with customer queries.
- Posting bank transactions.
- Bank reconciliations to include USD and Euro accounts.
- Raising sales invoices for machines sales and working with finance companies.
- Preparing information for VAT returns.
- Setting up of customer and supplier accounts.
- Producing excel reports/graphs for reporting.
- General admin tasks.

**Skills / Knowledge and Experience**:
The successful applicant will need to have basic accounting knowledge and knowledge of Sage 200 accounting software, but knowledge of Sage 50 will also be considered. You will also need knowledge of MS Excel and Outlook. Due to the team being a small accountsteam you will need to be flexible and willing to take on additional tasks when they arise.
