**Senior Claims Handler
Location: Dudley
Permanent Position: Salary dependant on experience**

**Purpose of the job**:
Support the Group in managing and handling all claims
**Key Objectives**:
Reduce Cost of Failure by challenging and defending all external claims against the Group
**Specific Responsibilities / Tasks**:

- _Key point of contact in dealing with claims for the business._
- _Handling a variety of commercial and private claims._
- _Liaising effectively with direct claimants and insurers in such areas as commercial motor, employers' liability, and public liability._
- _Maintaining an effective diary system, following up on information and regularly liaising with brokers, insurers, loss adjusters, clients, managers and generating reports, delivering presentations._
- _Collecting accurate information/reports and handling all documentation._
- _Working closely with all sections of the group._
- _Managing internal and external telephone enquiries, dealing with any complaints that may arise._
- _Able to read and understand investigation reports and identify and provide risk awareness in the prevention and reduction of possible claim risks._
- _Raise payment requests and identify issues where full payment might not be made._
- _Negotiate insurance renewals and identify areas where savings can be made without compromising on cover._
- Undertake other duties, as required, commensurate with the skills, competencies, and experience of the post holder.

**Qualifications & Training**:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially Word, Excel and Outlook or similar programmes
Qualifications under the CII an advantage
**Technical Skills & Experience**:
Previous experience in dealing with a variety of claims.
Strong communication skills and excellent telephone manner.
Strong technical ability and claims expertise.
Proactive approach at all times.
Ability to build rapport and give a personal service to clients in an empathetic nature.
Able to identify potential savings when negotiating settlements.
Able to identify potential fraud or exaggeration of losses.
Have a good knowledge of the legal system in England and Wales and how it operates.
Professional, polite with strong customer service skills.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Strong listening skills and ability to manage company and client expectations.
Well-organised, with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Genuine passion for claims handling and focussed on achieving the best possible settlements for the business, ensuring process runs smoothly.
