**Night Care Assistant**

**Pay rate**:£12.75-£13.75 **enhanced NVQ/QCF rates available**

**Contracted Hours: 42 hours per week**

**About the home**:
Wellford Gardens is our first luxury new build incorporating all-inclusive in the comfort of luxurious surroundings. It will include en-suite bedrooms, fresh air ventilation, acoustic monitoring, landscaped gardens, private dining, hair and beauty facilities, cinema, lounge and sun terrace. The home is located just off the A40 on Park Hill in Wheatley. Wellford Gardens is a three-storey home with 65 bedrooms, offering residents round-the-clock residential and dementia care. The home design includes innovative new technologies including E-care and providing person centred care with many personalised options.

This is a waking role.

Key Accountabilities

Support residents by providing holistic person-centred care; hygiene and physical wellbeing

Support customers to maintain a high standard of personal care including intimate care, hygiene, and physical wellbeing.

Responsible for the security and safety of the building at night in line with Trust policy

Headcount of residents during the night checks as prescribed in Trust policy

Carry out all emergency procedures including basic first aid as necessary in respect of accidents, illness and death.

Follow procedures to ensure health, safety and security. Report any damage or fault in equipment, furniture or fitting to the Home Manager

Administer medication in accordance with policies.

Support residents in the development and review of their personal wellbeing ensuring relevant changes are reported to the Head of Care.

Contribute and work collaboratively as a team member and establish good working relationships with colleagues, customers, professionals and visitors.

Undertake domestic chores through the night when all care related activity has been undertaken

Support residents to make, prepare for and attend appointments where required,

Ensure the household and rooms are kept clean and tidy e.g. making beds, vacuuming, mopping etc. involving customers where appropriate.

Ensure the health and safety of employees, visitors and residents in compliance with Health and Safety regulations and Trust policy.

Knowledge, skills & Abilities

Must be able to demonstrate literacy and numeracy skills in the English language.

Basic IT Skills

Maths and English at GSCE level or equivalent

Must complete the Care Certificate within 12 weeks of joining the Trust

Qualified fire marshal (or willing to work towards)

Successfully completed e-learning Medication Competency

Diploma/NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable

Demonstrates a desire to work in care Understands the implications of working in a care setting

Previous experience of caring for someone or experience of working in a residential care setting

Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent (or is willing to work towards)

Technical and Job Specific Requirements

Working knowledge of Care Standards Act, HSAW Act, Food Hygiene, Infection Control, Risk Assessment, Care Plans and Reviews

Experience of working with and completing Care Plans

Awareness of CQC

Competent using Microsoft Outlook including Word and Excel

Trained in Dementia Care
