**Job Summary**
- We are pleased to make available a unique Summer Placement Opportunity within the Analytical Chemistry team here at Charles River Laboratories in Tranent.
The successful applicant will be assigned to a specific and unique project to be completed within a 6 - 8 week period.

**Scope of Project**
The project is to perform an internal GLP validation for an analytical method to determine multiple elements in rat plasma.
It will include being trained on ICP-MS, use of the data capture system, sample preparation procedures and preparing a full scientific validation report for audit.
An additional aim of the project is to produce a poster, paper and presentation to be shared internally and to help demonstrate our capabilities with potential clients.

**Interested students should have**:

- At least 2 years academic learning working towards an Honours degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry or a related discipline.
- A desire to pursue a career in Analytical Chemistry.
- Strong communication skills, positive attitude, excellent collaborative abilities and a drive to succeed.

**The salary for this role is £23,804.89 per annum paid pro rata.**
