Financial Controller

**Financial Controller - Property Development Group**
**Location: North London / New Southgate**
**Salary: £70,000 (circa)**

Our client, a large property developer and construction group, is looking to hire a qualified accountant as a Financial Controller for its UK Group Head Office. As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing the UK Group's accounts function,overseeing the preparation of annual financial statements, and liaising with the Group's tax agents to ensure compliance with taxation returns.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Overseeing the accounts function for the UK Group.
- Managing a team of 3 finance team, including a newly qualified ACCA Management Accountant.
- Preparation of annual financial statements for all UK Group companies.
- Managing accounts payable staff to ensure accurate analysis of expenditure and preparation of VAT returns.
- Managing property management staff to ensure accurate preparation of annual service charge accounts.
- Reporting to various financial institutions on the development of residential and commercial projects.
- Liaising with financial institutions in relation to any proposed financing.
- Liaising with Group accounts staff in Ireland and Germany when necessary.
- Any other duties that may be required, as outlined by the Managing Director.

**Person Specification**:

- Practical and logical approach to work.
- ACCA or ACA qualified.
- Previous experience within a UK practice/accounting firm is desirable.
- High ability and genuine willingness to work and take instructions from the Managing Director.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work within a team.
- Good and effective written and spoken communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.

**Qualifications**:

- ACCA or ACA qualified.
