A qualified expert practitioner, working autonomously within a specialist field of imaging. The sonographer is responsible for his/her work and professional development. The sonographer will provide leadership, training and will support service development. The post holder will undertake reflective evaluation of practise, support clinical governance and work as part of a team with other disciplines towards shared objectives.

1. Independently undertake and interpret obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound examinations at the main Royal Berkshire Hospital site and at satellite units.
2. Formulate and issue clinical reports.
3. The job holder will display the expected behaviours of the Maternity & Gynaecology Directorate and the Trust. The Trust expects all staff to comply with all relevant policies and codes of conduct and to display the values of the Trust as illustrated below:

11. To undertake other duties not specified here but within the general scope and grade of the post, which may be delegated from time to time by the Lead Practitioner/Manager.
