**National Support Lead**

We have a vacancy in our team for a National Support Lead to manage our team of Support Caseworkers across the UK.

This position will be based out of our London office and soon to be opened London Hub.

The role will also require occasional travel to our other hubs nationally.

This is a Full Time position based on 37.5 hours a week.

Salary £35,000-£42,000 (dependant on experience)

**WHO WE ARE**

FirstLight Trust developed its hub model based on veterans needs and their requests to create an accessible veteran-friendly hub on the high street. This is backed up by other contact points such as the web, telephone and a UK network of available support. We also collaborate with other charities and agencies.

Our hubs support and provide activities for veterans to get involved in that help enhance their everyday lives, provide the opportunity to learn new skills and help with integration back into the local community. These are varied with some activities being open to all our veteran clients and others arranged on a needs basis to provide everybody with the best opportunity to succeed.

**WHAT THE ROLE INVOLVES**

Working with the Support Caseworker Team:

- To ensure that the FirstLight Trust services and support for clients are effective, safe, and delivered to the highest professional standards.
- To line manage a team of employed support caseworkers, geographically spread over the UK - this includes providing regular 1-1s and building a strong team ethos that utilises specialisms within the national team. Ability to travel is an essential component of this role.
- To provide oversight and management of support caseworkers, case load, and the operational processes of the team of support Caseworkers.
- Be one of two Designated Safeguarding Leads within the organisation. The other designated safeguarding lead is the CEO, so daily safeguarding concerns will be generally managed by this role. Oversee Safeguarding, assess risk for clients with support caseworkers, and ensure that relevant policies, training and feedback/protocol is documented.
- Ensure the highest standards of practice are maintained.
- Support the continuous professional development of support caseworkers, linking this to operational need and opportunities to develop FirstLight Trust services
- Take overall responsibility and accountability for referrals and assessments, ensuring allocations of central referrals are made to support caseworkers in a timely manner.
- Manage a support caseworker case load, if a support caseworker is absent from work for an extended period of time, to ensure the workload is shared effectively throughout the team.
- Client based supervision oversight - reading client-based supervision notes and working with the FirstLight Trust client-based supervisor as appropriate.
- Ensuring the needs of the clients are foremost in service development.
