The Fence Gate Lodge is recruiting for both full & part time receptionists to join our friendly team.

We are an award winning, family owned business - currently celebrating our 40th year The Fence Gate Lodge is nestled between Pendle’s most idyllic countryside, set back in the village of Fence, within easy access of the M65. With the beautiful Pendle countryside as a stunning backdrop, this fabulous 24-bedroom hotel has an exquisite blend of luxury bedrooms, junior suites, a master suite and an apartment. Fence Gate Lodge is the areas only 5 star AA accredited property.

Just across the road is our Inn, a cosy Georgian property with roaring fires, a welcoming bar, and 1AA Rosette Brasserie. We host a number of events all year round from intimate dinners, to wedding celebrations and elaborate charity balls.

**Essential skills & Non-negotiables**:

- Computer literate - able to use Word and Excel day to day, as well as using on-line platforms and booking sites.
- Polite telephone manner with the ability to be clear and concise.
- A good level of literacy in order to leave clear handovers with the team.
- A good level of numeracy in order to take payments, facilitate guests bills, and operate the tills.
- Be well presented & promote the values of the company.
- Our shift patterns are Early: 7am-3pm, and Late: 3pm - 11pm. _(There are not currently shifts available outside of these hours.)_

**Main Duties**:

- Receive guests to the hotel with a great big Fence Gate welcome
- Check Guests in on our in-house system, take payments, and inform guests of the Hotel's services.
- Checking guests out, issuing correct bills and taking payments by cash and card.
- Build a good relationship and rapport with both regular guests and new faces alike.
- Make reservations for leisure guests, corporate clients, and group bookings using our in-house system, and across online booking platforms.
- Making dinner reservations at the Fence Gate Inn Brasserie.
- Keep clear and comprehensive records of guest room bookings and all billings for accountability and future reference.
- Perform closing duties, run End of Day Reports, and cash up tills.
- Handle any guest complaints in a professional manner, escalating to a manager if needed.
- Maintain orderliness at the front desk by arranging documents accordingly and keeping the reception area clean & welcoming at all times.
- Assist the hotel manager in day to day tasks, including some events set ups if needed.
- Prepare the breakfast room for breakfast service.
- Any level of bar service experience would be a great advantage although full training would be given.
