Based **Darwen, **Lancashire

We are currently looking to recruit a **Materials Controller **to join our team responsible for managing the flow of materials to support manufacturing operations which includes regular liaison with our external suppliers.

**The Role**:

- Run stock and component forecast reports, and take the appropriate action to achieve continuity of supply of components.
- Place purchase orders to ensure that there is stock in place to cover all allocations and maintain the required stock levels.
- Check Sales enquiries and advise component delivery dates in the event of a shortfall in stock.
- Review outstanding orders on a daily basis, and expedite where necessary to ensure that stock is available at the right time to meet production requirements.
- Investigate stock discrepancies, and implement corrective actions where appropriate.
- Conduct meetings on a regular basis with suppliers and keep Material Control Manager updated with any potential risk and shortages that may arise during the day to day process.

**The Person**:

- Previous Inventory / Stock Control experience is essential.
- Excellent organisational & analytical skills.
- Confidence and ability to influence.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Experience using MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft software packages, especially Excel.
- Team player.
