Principal Librarian

We are looking for an Active Travel community engagement technician to assist our in-house engineers to develop designs for Active Travel through stakeholder and community engagement. You may be an experienced engineer or transport professional with a passion for Active Travel and a genuine commitment to community led design principles

**About you**:
You will:

- Have knowledge of Active Travel Design principles
- Be passionate about Active Travel
- Be experienced in community engagement and design processes
- Have the ability to work directly with a range of people from all backgrounds
- Be able to explain complex ideas in understandable terms
- Have the ability to use online media and tools to engage a wide range of audiences

**What you will do**:
1. Under the direction of Active Travel Civil Engineer where appropriate take responsibility for the community and stakeholder engagement process (Community led design).
2. Provide advice and support using your knowledge and skills in the development of bespoke design solutions through direct engagement with communities.
3. Utilise your engineering knowledge and skills to progress the preparation of design, calculations, drawings, contract documentation, estimates, reports, surveys, for assigned Active Travel projects and undertake such other duties as are allocated.
4. Utilise your engineering knowledge and skills in the development of bespoke engineering design solution, during both the design period and on site works. To include identification of site problems & constraints, ecological & biodiversity considerations.
