TekAlloy are proud to be working with a leading engineering and manufacturing businesses in our area.Who produce large components for Various industries including Aerospace and Nuclear

They are looking for a Manual turner to join their team on a full time and permanent basis, Joining a team of long servers and some highly skilled Engineers, the successful person will work on large one off jobs and components. Manufacturing a range of components for use in mining, Materials handling and Lifting equipment.

Monday to Thursday

Night Shift

6.pm-6.am

£21-£23 per hour

**Overtime available paid at enhanced rates**

**Duties**
- Set up and operate Turning machines such as Turret and Center lathes to perform precision machining operations
- Manufacture products using a range of turning techniques, including boring, Hertel Drilling and Trepanning
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations
- Select and use appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and tooling for each job
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency
- Make adjustments to machine settings as needed to maintain proper dimensions and tolerances
- Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance
- Experience working in a jobbing shop environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of machining principles
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Machine forgings and tooling to specified drawings
- Use measuring equipment (Micrometers, Vernier, Wall Thickness Meter, Surface Roughness gauge).

Essential
- Machining working under +/-.025
- Manual Turning Experience
- Good communication skills
- Experience with machining Forgings - Advantage
- Attention to detail

**Knowledge**
- Apprentice trained - Mechanical Manufacturing or equivalent (desirable)
- Overhead Crane/Lifting Certification - Advantage
