**Job Title: Senior Ward Clerk**

**Pay: £14.79ph**

**Location: CR7 7YE**

**Hours: Mon - Fri 9am - 5pm**

**Trust Location: Croydon Health Services**

**What you’ll be responsible for**:
1 Daily management of ward and front of the house clerks with direct reporting to line management where appropriate

2 To ensure all clerks are aware of their role and responsibilities

3 To ensure all direct reports adhere to Trust policy with regards to Mandatory and Statutory

Training (MAST).

4 To ensure the clerks and midwives’ rotas are covered and escalate any concerns to line manager

5 Take responsibility for own development, learning and performance including annual MAST

requirements.

6 The post-holder will exercise excellent communication across medical and midwifery teams,

promoting and developing productive relationships.

7 Participate in the development of policy, guidelines and protocol aligned for maternity and neonatal care

8 Produce reports / information for department when requested by the management team

1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to complete your role effectively always to the highest standard

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

**You’ll have the following skills/experience**:

- Experience in supporting senior managers/ward clerks
- Experience of working to own initiative without direct supervision.
- Previous employment in Band 4 or 5 or equivalent position in administration.
- High level of IT skills, including advanced use of Microsoft Office packages
