Attendance Mentor

**Are you a highly motivated individual with the passion and drive for improving school attendance for persistently absent pupils? We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our team on a Part-Time Permanent basis.**

**Essential requirements**
- Experience of using a social work / counselling / solution focussed approach to working with parents and children
- Experience of working in the education system and in multi-agency settings
- Knowledge of:
- school systems
- pastoral systems
- approaches to working with parents of disaffected students
- positive approaches to empowering and enabling students and parents/carers to help themselves
- Knowledge of the legislative framework that underpins the work of supporting families and schools, including attendance and behaviour
- Ability to undertake assessments and write reports to a high standard
**Some of the Key Responsibilities include**:
- To support the identification, engagement and mentor support for pupils who are eligible for support within the project
- To hold a case load of pupils to engage in mentoring support
- To work in partnership with academies to promote positive education for pupils who are being supported by the project
- To work co-operatively with children's services, health agencies and other community based services, to provide the most effective service for children young people and families.

Coop Academies are working in partnership with Barnardo's to deliver **targeted, responsive, one-to-one support for persistently and severely absent pupils**.
This will **initially be a one-year project (12 months).**
**Job Type**: Part-time
**Salary**: £27,300.00-£36,029.00 per year
Expected hours: 18.5 per week
