**Graduate Structural Engineer (GSE) Responsibilities**

Reporting to the Operations Director and working with the operations and technical teams, the GSE is responsible for all structural proposals, calculations, and sketches. This role has a wide remit which includes input to all technical aspects and is animportant role to the business.

**SE Essentials**Energy**, a positive attitude, and commitment are prerequisites as are exceptional IT and Microsoft skills. Previous experience as a Structural Engineer or engineering experience.

Must live within a commutable distance.

**Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge**
- Undertaking design calculations of architectural metalwork designs
- Preparation of technical specification
- Ability to lead technical design
- Preliminary and detailed design calculations
- Developing new and improved processes for the technical team
- Attending client meetings as required
- Assisting with design
- Providing technical support to the company’s pre contract team as required
- Ability to work directly with clients and colleagues to ensure that projects are completed to schedule
- Be able to work as part of a team
- Be able to work accurately, with good attention to detail
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Have problem solving skills

**Qualifications and experience**:

- BSc/BEng (Hons) or MSC/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering, along with excellent attention to detail
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
