Head of Neurophysiology

The post holder will support the Director of Operations, Neuroscience Care Group in providing effective strategic leadership using wide ranging, specialist, professional, clinical and managerial knowledge, skills and experience of Neurophysiology, having delegated responsibilities for specific areas of performance of the department (as defined within the Trust Devolution Policy). The post holder will take clinical and leadership responsibility for Neurophysiology. The post holder must be registered under the Academy for Health Care Scientists (AHCS) &/or the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP). In addition to clinical expertise, the post holder also requires a high level of tact, diplomacy and management expertise. The post holder will also work closely with the new Care Group leads, supported by the Neuroscience Care Group Divisional General Manager and Operational team to ensure activity and patient flow are supported.
It is anticipated that the post holder will work approximately 20% in a managerial role with an 80% clinical commitment.
The post holder will clinically lead the Neurophysiology department undertaking and reporting on a wide range of procedures. Supervision, training, and development of staff are also key areas of responsibility.
The post holder will be responsible for developing and managing the Neurophysiology services, based at DPOW for Northern Lincolnshire & Goole Hospitals NHS Trust which encompasses North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire and East Riding of Yorkshire, ensuring that the services are structured to meet the needs of service users.
Working with the Director of Operations this will also include collaborating with other organisations and agencies to deliver effective services across the health community. Most of the procedures/examinations are available to the local Primary Care Trusts via direct access arrangements. The post holder will actively participate in projects supporting and engaging within this modality as a whole to support cross site/cross Trust working.
