An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of an integrated multi-professional team providing community rehabilitation to stroke, acquired brain injury (ABI), and other neurological patients. The post is based at the Park Road Wellbeing Centre in Pontypool. It involves contributing to a comprehensive assessment and rehabilitation service for patients across the ABUHB area. The post holder will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes clinical psychologists, neuro-physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, speech and language therapy, and rehabilitation assistants. The post holder will be expected to support and engage in individual, joint and group clinical work with colleagues from the CNRS clinical psychology service or other disciplines under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist. The locations of clinical work will include, patient’s own homes, hospital and outpatient sites, on-line, and in groups. The post holder will be expected to travel to other health board sites and to patient’s places of residence.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

The post holder will be part of the Community Neuro Rehabilitation Service within the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. The service provides a range of evidenced based psychological therapies within the geographical area of Gwent, South Wales.

The post holder will support the provision of psychological assessment and intervention. The post will involve travel across Gwent. Assessment and intervention will be delivered by the post holder under the supervision of qualified clinical psychologists located within CNRS.

The main duties of this role include administrative support for and provision of psychological assessment and intervention within community-based psychology services. This will include both individual assessment, group therapy and multi-disciplinary liaison.

Professional support and clinical supervision will be provided and opportunities for peer support are also available through the physical health psychology speciality and wider psychology network.

**The post holder will be responsible for**:

- Undertaking and supporting psychological assessments and interventions as part of the multi-professional team and as delegated by the Clinical Psychologist.
- Supporting the Clinical Psychologists to undertake clinically relevant research, service evaluation and audit.
- Supporting the Clinical Psychologists to undertake teaching and training.

Clinical

To support the clinical work and consultation work of the Clinical Psychologists as directed by the appropriate Clinical Psychologist

To undertake psychological assessments as delegated by a qualified clinical psychologist. To undertake a range of skills-based or protocol-driven psychological therapeutic interventions as delegated by a qualified clinical psychologist

To provide psychological guidance and support to carers and families of patients under clinical supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist
