Acorn is currently recruiting on behalf of their client Tata Steel, who operate a Lime Manufacturing Plant (located within less than 1 mile from Shap village adjacent Junction 39 of the M6 in Cumbria).
Role responsibilities (and duties at the Supervisor's discretion):

- Complete inductions
- Cover laboratory holidays
- Sample and test lime, reporting results in a timely manner
- General plant cleaning
- Sinter-making
- Quarry restoration work
- Fencing
- Grass cutting
- Lead poking teams
- Bagging, load and dispatch of all lime products
- Weighbridge duties
- Watering/gritting roads
- Moving limes
- Help to oversee housekeeping standards
The Day Operative will also assist Supervisors by providing a smooth transition between shifts.
This role will require you to proactively follow company policy and procedures, and be motivated to achieve high standards, consistently getting involved with daily management activities.
You will lead by example and be fully involved in 'Safety, Quality, Logistics, Customer' requirements, as well as your own self-development.
Hours of work:

- Full-time, permanent
- 40 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4pm
- Occasional work from 6:30am to 3pm
Pay rate:

- £9.88 to £11.08 per hour
- Overtime paid after 40 hours of work per week
