We specialise in delivering connected care technology for local authorities, the NHS, housing associations and sheltered accommodation providers across the country. We are the market leader in data led, digital connected care technology in the UK and are scaling rapidly in the country.

We recently secured a large care technology contract in London boroughs of Barking & Dagenham where we are taking over 3,000 customers who need access to our services.

**JOB SUMMARY**

To provide an Emergency Response Service to Alarm users across the Barking or Dagenham area, including Sheltered Housing Schemes.

To follow Telecare Service Association (TSA) guidelines and be compliant with the TSA Codes of Practice.

To be part of an Out of Hours On-call service to respond to emergency calls in line with TSA Codes of Practice.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Operational or Strategic Responsibilities**
- To provide a timely, effective response to emergency alerts/alarms from Careline customers within their own homes or in Sheltered Schemes.
- To adhere to all TSA QSF guidance governing the provision of an Emergency Response service
- To attend all mandatory training, regular supervision and team meetings and any additional training identified by line Manager as appropriate to the role.
- Any other duties appropriate to the grade and responsibilities of the post.

**Communication and Relationship Skills**
- To liaise with relevant health professionals, relatives, Scheme Managers, Emergency services, Care providers, Social Services, Housing agencies, Equipment Providers and any other agency involved in the service users care.
- To give instructions on correct usage of telecare/care technology equipment to service users and/or relatives.
- To ensure Careline Control Centre is informed of whereabouts at all times when called out and when returning home for lone worker safety purposes.

**Autonomy**
- To be responsible for responding promptly and appropriately to call outs and to ensure that an effective handover is provided to day staff in a timely manner.
- To ensure any serious technical problems are reported to Control and the Senior on call or other relevant party promptly and take appropriate steps to resolve them as soon as possible.

**Use of Information Resources**
- Maintain accurate records of call outs, call logs and customer information and ensure these are processed promptly.
- Develop proficiency in undertaking basic problem solving and repairs to a variety of TEC alarm systems.

**Responsibility for Customer Care**
- To carry out Home and Risk Assessments, Health and Safety checks if required.

**Essential Skills**
- Good general education (NVQ level)
- Previous experience of Face to Face working with the Public
- Basic Administration Experience
- Ability to read maps/use satellite navigation system
- Previous experience of providing personal care or support
- Must be able to deal with and solve problems with minimum of supervision
- Must be confident to work alone
- Must hold a full driving licence
- Good Telephone and Communication skills
- Must be sensitive to the needs of older persons and other special needs groups.
- Level Headed and ability to deal with emergency and sensitive situations
- Must be based in and willing to work throughout Barking and Dagenham
- Must be willing to work at night

**Helpful Skills**
- NVQ in Health and Social Care or 3 GCSE’s including Maths and English
- Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
- First Aid
- IT skills
- Affinity with technology
