**Job Title: Senior Test Lab Engineer**

**Purpose**:
Responsible for the delivery of timely preparation, testing, and reporting of materials in line with agreed management system manual and procedures.Utilising all available equipment and resources, always ensuring adherence to our Client and Customer servicelevel agreements
To support and uphold the company values and support the culture of the department to meet the strategic goals of the business with the emphasis on innovation
**Main Objectives**:

- Ensure timely and accurate processing of the end-to-end testing process
- To ensure the management system is accurately maintained with test and service records being input within the agreed format
- Ensure we deliver a consistently high standard of experience for our customers by maintaining & championing a customer service culture, always ensuring adherence to Client and Customer service level agreement/s
- To contribute to the growth and success of the business by supporting the departmental and business plans

**Responsibilities**:

- Carry out and supervise the timely processing of ambient and elevated temperature tensile testing of both round and prismatic samples in line with agreed processes, reporting findings in full to our clients/customers (written and verbal) where requiredto agreed delivery schedules.
- Carry out and supervise the timely processing of full-size fastener testing, proof load and wedge testing on all applicable machines at ambient temperature in line with agreed processes, reporting findings in full to our clients/customers (written and verbal)where required to agreed delivery schedules.
- Carry out and supervise the timely processing of Ambient and elevated fatigue testing in line with agreed processes, reporting findings in full to our clients/customers (written and verbal) where required to agreed delivery schedules.
- Carry out and supervise the timely processing of thermo-mechanical fatigue testing in line with agreed processes, reporting findings in full to our clients/customers (written and verbal) where required to agreed delivery schedules.
- Carry out and supervise the timely processing of load bearing product testing in line with agreed processes, reporting findings in full to our clients/customers (written and verbal) where required to agreed delivery schedules.
- Support your line manager in the contract review process with the timely coordination, planning and progressing of jobs within the system, providing customer feedback (written and verbal) where required, ensuring agreed process is adhered to
- Accurately costing jobs for invoicing purposes, monitoring, and filing in line with agreed practices
- Consider risk and opportunities associated with laboratory activities, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing any necessary actions
- At all times, act confidentially and impartially in accordance with the laboratories documented management system
- Ensure the physical condition of the department and work areas are acceptable and in line with agreed standards, supporting too the inspecting of equipment
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reporting as advised, in line with your objectives
- To assist management in any other related tasks to enhance the efficiency of our service in line with business needs
- Adopt safe working practices in line with current Company procedures and to undertake appropriate training in Health and Safety.Ensure GDPR/data protection guidelines are always adhered to
- Liaise with our customers in respect of contract review and the provision of technical advice within your field of expertise, ensuring customer service satisfaction is maintained and consistently focused on, escalating any areas of concern to your linemanager
- Always have a personal current up to date appraisal/development plan in operation so that you undertake appropriate learning and development activities for your role

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Ideally educated to HNC minimum standard (appropriate discipline) or working towards, and/or relevant work experience in this area
- Interpreting customer testing requirements
- Knowledge of testing / test machines
- Experience of working to international quality standards
- Knowledge and experience of UKAS
- Complete audits in line with existing Quality Management Systems (internal and by external bodies)
- Use of mechanical measuring equipment and hand tools
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
- Good level of numeracy and literacy.
