**Holiday Club Leader**

We are looking for a confident, kind and nurturing Leader with excellent management skills to run our out of term Holiday Club (8am-6pm) in our outstanding ‘Secret Garden’ setting during school holiday periods. If you are **qualified Level 3** or above and interested in being involved, we would love to hear from you.

The Holiday Club runs (approximately 17 weeks over the year) during the Easter, Christmas and Summer and half-term school holiday periods. If you are the right person for us we can offer you a current hourly rate of £17 per hour plus holiday pay, free parking, free meals whilst on duty and a wonderful working environment.

They will be involved in the staffing, planning and preparation of suitable resources and activities for a happy, safe and stimulating environment. They will work effectively as part of our Pre-Prep and Nursery team and nurture positive and effective relationships with pupils and parents. Would suit someone with experience in State or Independent schools and nursery settings.

**Skills and Qualities**:

- Qualified to Level 3 or above with experience of the EYFS. The qualification must be a certificate or diploma (not award) that is OFQUAL-approved. For Early Years it must be included on their list of regulated qualifications. It should state “Early Years Educator” and will have work based assessments.
- Paediatric first aid trained (training can be provided)
- Excellent communication skills - with children, staff and parents.
- Recognise that each child is unique and to value and respect this.
- Give care, affection and encouragement.
- Nurturing rapport with young children
- A commitment to the learning and development of children
- Effective organisation and administration skills.
- A good competent understanding and use of technology (for communication, admin, and pupil engagement)
- Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and also independently.
- To be ready and enthusiastically available to parents, displaying approachability and professionalism at all times.
- Ability to care for ill or distressed children
- Empathy for pupils, parents, staff and the community.
- Strong interpersonal skills.

- To share in the corporate responsibility of the pastoral care, well-being and discipline of all pupils at Handcross Park School.
- Undergo appropriate child welfare screening including checks with former employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS)

**Other Duties and Responsibilities**

**To share any specific areas of expertise which would be beneficial towards the running or development of the school.**
- To be an active member of the staff community.
- To participate in the general day to day activities of the school as a whole and undertake a share of staff duties. All staff are expected to attend INSET days as required by the Headmaster/Head of the Pre-Prep.
- To carry out such other duties as are reasonably assigned by the Head of Pre-Prep and Bursar.
