**Supporting Statement**

The role is within the estates team at Lochore Meadows Country Park and work largely takes place outdoors, in all weathers, in a countryside environment. The work can sometimes be physically demanding and can involve bending, lifting and carrying. A variety of hand tools and other equipment are used, such as chainsaws, strimmers and tractors. As part of your role you will assist the team with a wide variety of tasks to help to maintain and manage the park for the benefit of people and wildlife. This can involve path maintenance, litter picking and management of a variety of different habitats, including woodland, grassland, wetland and also the maintenance of facilities for public access and recreation.

The position may involve working alone and unsupervised. In your role you will be required to work a shift pattern which will include evenings and weekends. You will be required to engage with customers and service users in a positive manner.

**Job Details**

**The Person**

You must have experience of manual outdoor working in all weather conditions and the ability to carry out work of a repetitive nature whilst maintaining quality of work.

You should possess good communication skills and be able to transfer these in different circumstances e.g. dealing with members of the public. You should be a good team player as well as being able to work alone and unsupervised at times.

Some experience carrying out basic repair and maintenance work would be useful. You should have the ability to follow complex instructions, stay calm and work well under pressure and deal with confrontation. You will need to use your initiative as and when required.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with the ability to be able to work unsupervised and independently as part of a wider team. You will possess good communication skills, be customer focused and demonstrate a “can-do” attitude at all times.

Be flexible and able to work on their own initiative.

Have excellent team working skills.

Possess a basic understanding of IT and capable of using a variety of internal systems.

Have good customer service skills.
