As a Maintenance Apprentice, you’ll support our engineering teams by carrying out maintenance and repair work on a range of industrial machinery.

Take the first step towards building your engineering career while gaining hands-on experience and getting paid as you work towards your qualifications.

At the start of your apprenticeship, you’ll spend the first 15weeks at TDR Training School in Longbenton. You’ll then join the team at CMP Products in Cramlington, where you’ll spend four days per week in the factory, while attending college one day per week.

Specialising in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, you’ll build a portfolio of evidence throughout your apprenticeship to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.

CMP manufactures its products from three facilities based in Cramlington, Northumberland, and has a global distribution network, supported by ten offices spread across six continents from Houston, USA, to Busan, South Korea.

**What you’ll be doing**
- Learning to install, test, service, remove and repair a range of equipment as part of a complex maintenance programme
- Carrying out decommissioning activities i.e. when a machine is being removed from service
- Completing plant commissioning, isolating and testing activities
- Quality checking parts to identify and solve problems
- Building your understanding of how a business operates and the relationships between departments
- Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) training

**Who we’re looking for**

To apply, you must have achieved GCSE’s in English and Maths (A*-C/ 9-5) and have a genuine desire to learn and develop.

We’re looking for someone who has effective time management, communication and problem solving skills. You’ll need to be confident working with numbers, organised, able to meet deadlines and comfortable working under pressure.

Relevant work experience in an engineering environment would be great, but is not essential. As long as you have a keen interest in engineering, enjoy working with your hands and like being part of a team, you’ll be a great fit
