Senior Nursing Assistant

**Main duties of the job**:
- As a member of the multidisciplinary team the post holder will contribute to the delivery of patients’ individual care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
- The Senior Nursing Assistant demonstrates a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific tasks delegated by the nurse in charge and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies. S/he will undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent.
- Assist with the induction, supervision and training and development of Band 2 Nursing Assistants under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- There is the opportunity to develop within the role and undertake further training and development.**_ _**:

- GCSE level or equivalent in English and Maths or ability to demonstrate literacy and numeracy skills relevant to role
- Evidence of achievement of competencies relevant to role Committed to own personal development & evidence of regular attendance at training days
- NVQ level 3/ QCF/Apprenticeship or working towards
**Experience**:
**Essential criteria**:
- Previous experience of working with patients in a hospital outpatient environment
- Previous experience of team work
- Previous experience of customer care
- Previous experience in performing investigations/procedures e.g. ECGs, venepuncture, removal of clips/sutures
