We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team at The Workhouse and Infirmary. You will lead on some areas of programming and events and support others, giving our visitors reasons to return and inspiring the next generation of National Trust enthusiasts.

We want our visitors and community to have a special connection with The Workhouse and Infirmary through the experiences they have whilst visiting, and you can be part of a team that makes that happen.

This is a full-time permanent role. The working pattern is Tuesday-Saturday, working with occasional rota changes due to events or to help cover annual leave within the team.

We are a relatively small property, with a friendly atmosphere, run by a small, dedicated staff team and wider volunteer support. As part of the Visitor Experience Team you will report to the Senior Visitor Experience Officer.

Your contractual location will be The Workhouse and Infirmary, however you may also be required to travel to other properties within the portfolio.

The Workhouse and Infirmary is a unique National Trust property focussing on the social history of the poor, giving a voice to their stories and experiences. It is a complex place that challenges us to reconsider how we care for all in our communities today. With so many connections to important contemporary questions surrounding welfare and inequality it is an exciting time to be joining the team.

What you'll be doing:You will be involved in crafting and delivering seasonal trails and events for our audiences, which you will assist in event managing alongside the Senior Visitor Experience Officer and the wider site team. Working collaboratively, you will also support on planning a calendar of inspiring events and experiences to compliment the site. You will maintain existing partnerships whilst building new relationships with local and wider communities, looking to find creative ways to share the history and legacy of The Workhouse and Infirmary.

You will be part of a duty management rota and manage visitor experience volunteers. You will also be responsible for administering and developing our educational programming.

We're looking for someone with a can-do attitude, passionate about our place and our cause, who can work creatively.

Who we're looking forWe'd love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Experience in creating and delivering visitor programmes and/or working with community or commercial partners to deliver events and activities
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance competing priorities and demands and to plan strategically to meet deadlines
- Someone creative and able to draw creative ideas from their team, with a good eye for detail
- Experience with managing/supervising and motivating volunteers/a small team, or similar
- An effective communicator when working within a team, with partners, and autonomously using your own initiative
