**School Counsellor**

**1 day per week,** **permanent**

**School hours, term time. 15 min morning break and 1 hour lunch break**

**£100 per day**

**Proposed start date 5th Dec 2023**

Support East Ltd is a specialist independent social work and counselling provider with significant experience of working with children and families. We provide services to local authorities and schools and are looking to recruit someone to work for part time, one day each week during term time with young people aged 11-18 years old.

The aim of this role is to promote positive emotional health and wellbeing within the students and ultimately enabling them to bring about changes for themselves. In doing so the young people will develop positive self esteem and confidence in their own abilities and aspirations.

This position requires someone who is able to offer a professional and confidential service to both students and staff.

**Role Requirements**:

- The ability to engage with young people who face a variety of personal challenges
- A background in social work, counselling or health and social care preferred (other relevant backgrounds may also be considered)
- Must be committed to offering the young people a stable, containing environment, including a regular day each week (day to be agreed)
- Related qualifications preferable, minimum of two years relevant experience essential
- Experience of effectively managing your own diary and case load
- Must be literate in order to collate detailed case reports
- Experience in liaising with other professionals
- Good listener, approachable, relatable
- Enhanced DBS checks
- Up to date safeguarding training or willingness to undertake training
- If from a social work background, must be registered with social work England.
- Ongoing informal support and regular, structured professional supervision
