**Software Team Lead / Lead Developer**

We are currently working closely with one of the oldest firms in the UK who have been organically growing for over 150 years. Our client is seeking to recruit a Software Team Lead/Lead developer for their global Development team.

The role will be a technical hands-on development working with our UK based development team and external development resources. There will be requirements to arrange and attend global calls (typically weekly) with their overseas teams, so flexibility ofworking hours is required.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Take over the professional leadership and delivery responsibility as Senior Software Developer for the UK Software Engineering team and its strategic development.
- Collaboratively drive the continuous development of a global centre of excellence model for Software Engineering within UK and AUS teams are fully aligned.
- Closely align with stakeholders and manage resulting requirements, ensuring broader business requirement prioritisation is accurately reflected in the team's work.
- Manage product backlog, budget, and capacity.
- Ensure that whole lifecycle is considered, particularly in the operationalisation and maintainability of the software products through their deployment life.
- Motivate the development teams to perform at their best and to be passionate about delivering high quality, secure and repeatable solutions.
- Effective engagement in UK-AUS communication channels that promote inclusion and collaboration.
- Advocate and adopt best practices such as unit/automation testing, code reviews, code quality, release on demand, etc.
- Continually look for opportunities to improve our platform, process, and business.
- Awareness of the art of the possible through innovation and technology that will transform ways of working by continually developing self-knowledge and insight of the external technology sectors, whilst promoting IT at external events.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- 4+ years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer.
- Extensive software development with.Net/React technologies and knowledge of.Net MVC.
- Experience of SQL (Specifically Microsoft SQL Server) databases.
- Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate your ideas and concepts to a wide audience inside and outside the company.
- Solid and proven understanding of software development best practices and design patterns.
- Proficiency of security/access control, scalability, high availability, and concurrency.
- Proven ability to work independently and take projects from design to development to delivery.
- Dedication to delivering high-performance, secure, and scalable components.
- Self-motivated, passion for learning, strong communication skills.

**Desirable.**
- Practical knowledge and experience of GitHub, Auth0 and Azure DevOps Pipelines.
- Experience working on an agile environment that follows Scrum or other agile methodologies.
- Experience working with relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent), or equivalent experience.
- Experience in defining and developing Software as a Service or Platform as a Service products as well as low code products is an advantage.
