**Job Overview**
- Evaluating and advising on contractual risk in bid opportunities and procurement
- Attending at contractual negotiations with clients, advisers, partners, suppliers and sub-contractors as necessary
- Drafting of sub-contracts and various agreements and updating/amendment of standard sub-contract and contract conditions
- Researching and advising as necessary on related legislation
- Advising on contractual disputes with clients and sub contractors
- Ensuring all activities comply with governance policy, procedures
- Liaising with different sections of the business development teams including commercial and project managers to ensure the legal issues are understood and taken on board in preparation of tender returns
- Working closely with the pricing team to ensure risks are fully understood and reflected in our priced solution

**Responsibilities**
- Support the review of contract terms and conditions for any new business opportunities and contract retenders identifying key commercial risks and preparing a legal summary as part of tender sign-off process
- Preparation of contract précis/guides and presentations to improve contract awareness and enable operations teams to understand and effectively manage key commercial and contractual risks
- Understand the contracts, ensuring that the teams properly identify and price variations (capital works and services) and create clear persuasive arguments based on cause and effect to achieve proper payment
- Promote compliance with **internal **policy & procedures

**What we are looking for**
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a legal/business discipline and/or proven experience in a similar legal/commercial role
- Previous experience of working within a complex total facilities management and or facilities services contracts / Public Sectors
- Previous knowledge of reviewing different contract legal/commercial terms
- Experience of undertaking legal, commercial & contractual reviews and the preparation of contractual summaries
- Experience of negotiating contracts terms to successful close out
- A high level of legal/commercial awareness including knowledge of current contract legislation
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a highly pressurised and driven environment
- Ability to think ahead, foresee potential problems and identify new opportunities and create new and innovative approaches to work related issues
- Demonstrates a determination, desire to succeed and a wish to progress and develop within a legal/commercial role
- Experience of reviewing public sector contracts, including for the Ministry of Defence and Crown Commercial Services Framework
