**Main Purpose of Role**:
This role is an apprentice position, and the incoming incumbent will be provided with the necessary training and development to secure a Level 2 Apprentice in Supply Chain Warehouse Operative.

This role the job holder will be responsible for assisting the warehouse supervisor in maintaining the smooth operation of a challenging environment. The job holder will be required to maintain housekeeping standards and look to develop continuous improvement within the warehouse operations. Ensuring the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of warehouse materials, goods and products to feed business operations and customer demands. The post holder will help the development of warehouse processes.

**Key Tasks**:

- Take delivery of goods and supplies.
- Check for damaged or missing items.
- Store goods appropriately.
- Pick and pack orders for dispatch.
- Creating barcodes and using warehouse scanners
- Move stock around either by using lifting equipment or a forklift truck.
- Load goods for dispatch.
- Carry out stock counts as and when required.
- Maintain paperwork ensuring it is up to date.
- Ensure that all lifting and manoeuvring of product is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures.
- Operate in a safe manner complying with all health, safety and environmental requirements to ensure own and safety of others.
- Handle any hazardous materials in an appropriate manner (training will be provided).
- To manage the goods receipting and transfers on the ERP system and stock checks.
- Keep areas of work clean and tidy to ensure operational efficiency.
- Drive and use a Forklift safely (training will be provided).

**Key Requirements for Role**:

- An understanding of customer relations, to develop skill base further during this apprenticeship.
- To develop and understanding of warehousing and stock control.
- Understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure / cost of poor quality.
- Good communication skills.
- Good problem-solving skills and able to implement logical practical solutions.
- Computer literate with Knowledge of Microsoft Office and good numeric skills and required to learn ERP system.
- Training to gain Forklift license.
- A minimum requirement of a GCSE pass in Maths and English (Grade 4 or above).

**Health & Safety**
- Be responsible for the effective implementation of the Company Safety Policy, within their department, site or area of control.
- Carry out reviews of established safety measures, and instigate further, safety measures, instructions or training to ensure the health, safety and welfare of employees under their control.
- Assist in the investigation and reporting of accidents or incidents and potential hazards on the company’s site and take necessary action with the aim to prevent a re-occurrence of the accidents or incidents and remove any potential hazards.
- Maintain the highest standards of housekeeping and orderliness in their section or area of control.
- To assist the H&S Manager carry out formal written Risk Assessments and develop Safe Systems of Work for any plant or process where hazards cannot be physically eliminated or reduced to a safe level.
- Ensure that all contractors comply with and adhere to the Procedure for Control of Sub-contractors on site and with any other appropriate safety procedures contained within the Company Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality Policies.

**Environmental**
- Every employee is also responsible for attempting to minimise their impact on the environment and preventing pollution by respecting and implementing the Alumasc Roofing Environmental policy and procedures for the activities that are applicable to their area of responsibility, regardless of the location of work.
