We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to provide personalised care and support to an elderly lady with mixed dementia and physical health issues in her own home. As a carer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring her comfort, safety, and well-being while assisting with personal care and daily living activities.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Provide hands-on assistance with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting, while maintaining dignity and respect for the individual.

2. Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and document accurately.

3. Assist with mobility and transfer activities using proper lifting and transfer techniques to prevent injury, including the use of hoists.

4. Prepare nutritious meals and snacks based on dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring adequate hydration and nutrition.

5. Engage in stimulating activities and social interactions to promote cognitive function and emotional well-being.

6. Maintain a clean and organized living environment, including light housekeeping duties such as laundry, dishwashing, and tidying up.

7. Monitor and report any changes in the individual's condition or behaviour to the appropriate medical professionals and family members.

8. Accompany the individual to medical appointments, outings, and recreational activities as needed.

9. Provide companionship and emotional support, offering empathy, patience, and understanding during challenging moments.

10. Foster a positive and nurturing atmosphere that promotes independence and encourages participation in activities of daily living.

**Qualifications**:
1. Previous experience working with elderly individuals with dementia and physical health issues is essential.

2. Compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for others.

3. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with the individual, family members, and healthcare professionals.

4. Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.

5. Reliable and responsible with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting privacy.

6. Physical stamina and strength to assist with lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

7. Valid Disclosure and Barring Services certificate, preferably on the update system, is required prior to confirmation of position.

8. Two references from previous workplaces are required prior to confirmation of position.

**Working Conditions**:

- Flexible working hours, may include days, nights, long shifts, short shifts and weekends.
- The work environment may include exposure to bodily fluids and medical equipment, requiring adherence to strict hygiene and safety protocols.

Pay: £11.42 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 36 per week
