The South Oxon Adult Mental Health Team (AMHT) covers the geographical areas of Wallingford, Thame, Henley, Didcot, Wantage, Abingdon, Faringdon and surrounding villages.

The team provides excellent holistic patient care in the community to those individuals and their families experiencing mental illness. We are seeking experienced Mental Health Nurses and OT's to join our supportive and dynamic multi-disciplinary team.

You will be expected to undertake undertake bio-psycho-social assessments which are generally conducted jointly with a member of the MDT in addition to taking responsibility for a small caseload delivering brief focused interventions for a period of four to six weeks.

You will also expected to undertake duty tasks, which include liaison and triage of referrals from a range of sources. This includes reviewing the referral, conducting a triage assessment with the patient, signposting or offering an assessment in accordance to our referral criteria. This also includes liaison with with referrers and carer networks as required.

You will be supported by an experienced leadership team from across the professions, and will be provided with regular supervision and a bespoke induction to meet your needs. You will be encouraged and supported to undertake any training relevant to your professional development.

The team has, doctors, psychological therapists, social workers, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, and support workers. We also have embedded workers from the third sector to support with employment, housing and social needs and researchers. The team is a high recruiter for mental health research in conjunction with our patients and teaches and trains students of all types.

The AMHT is a seven day service open from 07:00-21:00 hours with opportunity to working early, late and weekend shifts. We also welcome discussion in regards to flexible working.
