**The Opportunity**

We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join our fast-growing Water Advisory team, well known in the industry for developing and implementing some of the most innovative strategies, plans and systems across all aspects of the water cycle. We work with governmental bodies, water regulators, water utility companies across the UK and global NGOs, delivering varied and interesting projects that help shape a more sustainable world. Our City Water Resilience Approach supports cities to undertake a baseline assessment of their resilience and develop action plans collaboratively across disciplines and sectors, improving the lives of urban populations. We also developed the Design with Water Framework, placing an understanding of the local water cycle at the centre of responses to wider issues, such as economic development, food and agriculture, community, and energy use. Our work with the Environment Agency and NRW enables them to tackle problems on a catchment scale, bringing together regional and national stakeholders to unlock social and environmental benefits.

You will work within a dynamic, and growing team who are motivated by the challenge of driving innovation, delivering excellence for our clients, influencing the sector both nationally and internationally, and working in multi-disciplinary teams. You will deliver varied projects providing advisory services relating to:

- Water policy, strategy and regulation
- Asset management and investment planning
- Resilience, adaptive planning and systems-thinking

As a Senior Water Consultant, you will work across a variety of projects, understanding client drivers, developing innovative solutions for clients and building strong relationships. Types of projects include the development of strategies and plans, water & wastewater business/investment cases, feasibility studies, resilience and decision-making frameworks, and optimising asset management systems.

You will manage project delivery including commercial management, quality assurance, the development of team members, and contribute to business development through developing compelling proposals. You will embrace a creative, insightful and methodical approach to problem solving and decision-making, collaborating across Arup to help shape a sustainable future.

You will also have the opportunity to develop a strong combination of industry skills and broad range of experience, learning through a combination of project work and training, as they progress towards promotion to roles with overall accountability for project delivery.

**Is this role right for you?**

We would like to speak with people who:

- Have experience post-degree in the infrastructure sector or related sectors (including industry, consulting or academia), and also have worked in ONE or more of: policy, strategy and regulation; investment planning including environmental and social economics; resilience, adaptive planning and systems-thinking; or asset management.
- Are professionally qualified or working towards qualification in a relevant professional institution, for example, Institute of Asset Management, CIWEM or ICE
- Are Knowledgeable of the key issues and opportunities facing the water sector globally and are Excited by new challenges, motivated to work independently, in a team, and to build positive client and stakeholder relationships.
- Have experience of project and commercial management, including project planning, programming and financial tracking and forecasting of projects.
